Welcome Back, Phoenix Families!
We hope you've had a wonderful summer filled with sunshine, rest, and time with the people you love. (We'll just pretend the smoky skies and triple-digit temperatures haven't been trying to steal the show lately!)As we get ready for another incredible school year at Initial Point High School, I want to extend a special welcome to all of our new Phoenix families! We are so excited you've chosen to join our community. To our returning families—welcome back! We can't wait to reconnect with all of you and hear about your summer adventures.
Registration is Almost Here!
To make registration as convenient as possible, we're offering two open-house style registration opportunities:Wednesday, August 5
10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
OR
Thursday, August 6
4:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Families may attend either session. The process should only take about 10–15 minutes, and you can drop in anytime during the scheduled hours.
We ask that every student attend with a parent or guardian, as there are several important forms, updated policies, and required signatures that must be completed before students can begin classes on Thursday, August 13.
First Day of School
The first day of school is Thursday, August 13, and classes begin promptly at 8:00 AM.This year we're implementing new practices in alignment with the Kuna School District's electronic device policy. Our goal is to protect instructional time, reduce distractions, and help students stay engaged in learning while they're in class.
Students will check their phones into the office before heading to class each morning, retrieve them during lunch, and check them back in before returning to afternoon classes. More information on these new practices will be provided at registration.
Because this is a brand-new process, we encourage students to arrive a little earlier than usual during the first few days while we work through any unexpected hiccups. We'd love for everyone's first day to begin smoothly—and on time!
Don't Forget!
Friday, August 14, is a full school day.At registration, every family will receive a school calendar outlining our schedule, including which Fridays are regular instructional days and which are designated for intervention.
Student Schedules
If you're checking PowerSchool, don't worry if schedules aren't available just yet. Our counselor, Kyra Brown, returns next week and will begin building student schedules. We expect schedules to be visible in PowerSchool by August 10.We are genuinely looking forward to welcoming everyone back for another year of learning, growth, and new opportunities. Whether you're joining the Phoenix family for the first time or returning for another year, we're excited to partner with you and help every student succeed.
Enjoy these last few weeks of summer, stay cool, and we'll see you at registration!
