Spring Update: A Note From The Principal

Dear Phoenix Families!
It’s hard to believe, but we’re down to the final stretch — just over four weeks left in the school year, with only 17 school days remaining (and 10 for our seniors!). For some, this countdown marks the end of a chapter — our graduates preparing to ring the final bell on their high school journey. For the rest of us, it’s a moment to pause and recognize just how far we’ve come this year.
There’s so much to celebrate. Together, we’ve overcome challenges, embraced new ways of learning, and continued building a school community rooted in Resilience, Integrity, Strength, and Excellence. These last few weeks are a chance to reflect, yes — but also a time to press forward and finish strong.
The temptation to “coast” is real, especially with summer break on the horizon. But don’t miss the value of what’s still ahead. There are 17 days of learning, growth, and opportunity, still to go! Let’s make the most of every one.
To our students: dig in, stay focused, and take pride in your finish.
To our staff and families: thank you for being steady, supportive, and strong.
And to our seniors: we’re proud of you — keep showing us what Phoenix Strong really means as you step boldly toward what’s next.
Let’s close this year with the same energy and heart we started it with — and then enjoy a well-earned, restful, and joyful summer break.
We’re almost there. Let’s rise to the finish.

Friday Intervention

Last week, we invited a large number of students to attend Friday Interventions due to failing grades — which wasn’t surprising after a four-week break from intervention time. However, only a small percentage of invited students actually showed up. With just three Friday Intervention days left this school year (May 2, May 16, and May 23), now is the time to take action.
As we approach the soft close on Thursday, May 8, students need to be laser-focused on getting caught up and finishing strong. If you receive an invitation to attend Friday Intervention, please make every effort to be here — this is your opportunity to get support, recover credits, and avoid summer school or incomplete grades.
Important Note:
Friday, May 9 is a districtwide professional development day, and the school will be closed to students.
Let’s make these final days count!

Counselors Corner

April was a great month here at IPHS. Our juniors completed their ISAT’s and we celebrated with our first prom at a venue in IP history. Our “Casino Night” was a huge success and tons of fun for both staff and students. We can’t wait for next year’s prom already!

The end of the school year is quickly approaching! We are gearing up for graduation and all of the other exciting events for seniors. As a reminder, graduation is May 21st 6:00 pm at the Kuna Performing Arts Center at Kuna High School. There is no limit to the number of guests that can attend. We always encourage current IPHS students to attend as it gives them an exciting moment to look forward to.

This Friday May 2nd is Senior Breakfast at 9:00 am. If you are graduating this May, you must attend or you will not walk at graduation. There is an optional event beforehand- Senior Sunrise at 6:15 am and then Moxie Java for coffee.

Lastly, I sent out a survey this week about elective choices for next year. If your student would like to have a say in what electives they take next year, please make sure they fill out the survey. It is not a guarantee, but I will do my best to accommodate their preferences.

Please reach out if you have questions or concerns. I am meeting with some families regarding schedules for next year, so if you are wondering about your students' credits, I am happy to answer questions or set up a time to meet.
