March Update: A Note From The Principal

Dear Phoenix Families,
Spring is finally here—and with it comes a renewed sense of energy and purpose. The weather is warming up, the days are getting longer, and here at IPHS, we’re feeling the momentum build as we wrap up Quarter 3 and head into the final stretch of the school year.
Now is the time to finish strong. Whether you’re a freshman just finding your rhythm or a senior counting down the days to graduation, these next few weeks are a powerful opportunity to refocus, reconnect, and RISE up.
Quarter 4 is more than just the end of the year—it’s a chance to show what we’re made of. Let’s stay engaged, support one another, and keep moving toward the goals we’ve set for ourselves. I believe in every single one of our students, and I can’t wait to celebrate their successes in the weeks to come.
Let’s end this year with intention, pride, and that unmistakable Phoenix strength.
We’ve got this!

Quarter 3 Graduates- Congratulations!

Please join us in celebrating our Quarter 3 Graduates! These seven students have worked hard, stayed focused, and completed their graduation requirements ahead of schedule. We’re incredibly proud of their dedication and perseverance.
Congratulations to: Mathias, Avery, Jacob, Lance, Aiden, Memphis, and Gage!
Each of you has taken a unique path to reach this milestone, and we can’t wait to see what you do next. Your Phoenix family is so proud—go forward with courage, strength, and purpose.

Quarter 4 Friday Intervention Update

We want to acknowledge a unique challenge in the Quarter 4 calendar. The first two Fridays of the quarter (April 5 & April 12) are regular in-person student days, and April 18 is a district-wide day off. This means the first Friday Intervention opportunity won’t occur until April 25—Week 4 of the quarter. While this isn’t ideal, we’re aware of the impact and will be flexible with deadlines and support as we get rolling. There will not be a “soft close” at the end of Week 3 to allow for this adjustment. Our goal is to ensure every student has the time and access they need to finish strong.

Counselors Corner

Some important dates for April include our “Casino Night” Prom! Tickets are still available for purchase until April 16th. Prom will be held at the Lounge at the End of the Universe in Boise. It will be a fun night, don’t miss out!

Also in April there will be ISAT testing for our juniors. They have 5 tests to complete and are scheduled to stagger them throughout the month of April. Testing dates are: April 8th, 10th, 15th, 17th, 22nd, and 24th. If your student misses a test they will need to come in on a non-school day Friday to make them up. All juniors need to complete all tests by May 5th.

April 15th is the deadline for completing Idaho Launch (the scholarship available to all students for 80% of tuition to college, trade school, or cosmetology school). I will do my best to snag students out of class to complete this but this time of year is quite hectic and I will likely not have enough time to get to every student. Any student can complete this on their own/at home as well. The link to complete it is here: https://scholarships.idaho.gov/.

We currently have 40% of our graduating seniors that have Idaho Launch completed. That means there are 25 graduating seniors that have NOT completed Idaho Launch and will miss out on $8,000 to their college or trade program next year. Don’t be one of those 25!! Congratulations to the 18 students that are finished with their Idaho Launch application: Amarissa, Memphis, Troy, Sarah, McKenna, Jose, Destiny, Peyton, Bryson D., Jacob, Amihya, Zach, Addi, Nate H., Bri, Emma, Gage, and Jade.

Lastly, April 21st is the last day to order an IPHS 2024-2025 Yearbook. The link is here: https://store.shopyearbook.com/initialpoint

Graduation is coming up! It will be held on Wednesday May 21st at the Kuna Performing Arts Center. There are no tickets or limit on how many people can attend. Plan to be there to celebrate our seniors!
