February Update: A Note From The Principal
Dear Phoenix Families,

February brought more winter weather than we've seen all season, with a couple of fun snowstorms, a surprise snow day, and some frigid temperatures. Despite the chill, our students and staff found ways to keep the warmth alive at IPHS!
We had a blast celebrating SRO Appreciation Day, honoring Detective Bunnel with a school-wide mustache-wearing event—because what better way to show appreciation than with some amazing facial hair? Later in the month, we also took time to recognize Counselor Appreciation Day, where students created heartfelt cards for Kyra and Jessica, reminding them just how much they are valued in our school community.
As we head into the final three weeks of Quarter 3, we want to encourage everyone to finish strong! This quarter, we’re focusing on the S in RISE—Strength. Strength is about pushing through challenges, staying committed to your goals, and showing resilience even when things get tough. Whether it’s catching up on missing assignments, preparing for final projects, or simply showing up and giving your best each day, every effort counts. Let’s make these last few weeks of the quarter a reflection of our strength and determination!

Parent Teacher Conferences
Spring conferences are just around the corner! Next week, March 6th, the Initial Point High School teachers will be available to meet with you from 4 PM to 6 PM. Please make time in your evening to stop by and chat with us! Our staff would love to get to know our newer families better and connect with all families on their student's progress this year.

Counselors Corner
As we wrap up February, we are just a few weeks away from the end of Quarter 3. We have had a great quarter getting to know our new students, but are very excited for the upcoming warmer weather and sunshine. I will be following up with seniors in the next few weeks to ensure that they have a plan post-graduation, have applied for Idaho Launch, and have completed the FAFSA if applicable. If your student has graduated already and no longer has classes in the building but you still need support with these things, please reach out! I have been sending emails to those early grad students but am not getting much of a response back. I’m here if you need me!

There will be a field trip to explore CWI’S CTE programs (welding, automotive technology, diesel mechanics, etc.) on March 11th. Anyone is welcome to join! If your student would like to go, please shoot me an email to let me know or have them come find me at school. It is always a great field trip that students enjoy each year, and a good opportunity to learn more about a field they are interested in pursuing after high school.

Additionally, prom tickets are on sale now! Prom will be held at the Lounge at the End of the Universe on April 19th from 8-11 pm. It will be an amazing night for all students at IPHS. There is a link to purchase a ticket for your student on Parent Square, or your student can bring money or a card in and buy a ticket from Terri in the front office.

As always, please email or call me if you need anything for your student.
